What is InfektTrap and how does it work?
InfektTrap is a trap containing a delayed-release poison bait. The cockroach is attracted, consumes the bait, returns to the nest, and dies there. Other individuals become contaminated upon contact with the cockroach or its excrement, leading to the gradual eradication of the colony.
How many pieces are provided per box?
Each box contains 8 traps
How long does it take for the product to eradicate cockroaches?
Cockroaches begin to die after 5-7 days. After 10-14 days, the nest is infested. After 17-21 days, the colony is often eradicated. The trap remains effective for another 90 days.
Where should traps be placed for optimal effectiveness?
Ideally:
- Under the sink and around the kitchen
- Behind the furniture and appliances
- Along baseboards and cracks
- Near garbage cans and drains
Stick the double-sided tape under each trap and remove the cap to expose the bait.
What is the difference with a cockroach spray?
- Sprays: immediate but local effect, strong odor, requires direct contact – cockroaches often hide out of reach.

Why do dead cockroaches attract others?
1. Necrophagic or coprophagic behavior:
- Live cockroaches are attracted to the excrement, secretions and corpses of their fellow cockroaches.
- They sometimes feed on or touch corpses, allowing them to ingest the poison contained in the dead cockroach's body.
2. Chemical markers:
- The toxic substances used in the bait continue to act in the cockroach's body even after its death.
- The corpse thus becomes a secondary source of poison for other individuals in the nest.
3. Indirect transmission of the poison:
- A poisoned cockroach may return to the nest, die, and then be eaten or touched by other cockroaches.
- This spreads the poison to the entire colony, including young and breeders.
